Transcending Borders test

Madan chitrakar (b 1947 ) is a senior artist and a leading art writer of the country. He has taken Nepali are beyond borders through his writing in many prestigious publications. He believes that a genuine work of art would and should always reveal the state of mind of an artist when the art is being created.So works of art – albeit created by the same artist but at different phases of time often appear differently revealing the changing mood of the artist.These shifting passages of time and creative exercises emanate an art journey of particular artist. He believes that his works also reveal the state of changing mind and the time when it is being created and the choices of elements narrate the changing circumstances. In other words, according the artist, a work of art must reveal a common natural phenomenon- called dynamic nature of human mind. 

 

K.K. Karmacharya was born in 1948 in Kathmandu. He has completed his diploma from Judha Kala Pathshala (Nepal Arts School). And graduated in art from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. He started working in painting from 1965. He worked as a postage stamp designer in Nepal. He was the Member Secretary of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and the President of the Artists Society of Nepal.He has exhibited many One Man shows as well as group shows at home and abroad. He has received numerous awards and honors from national and international organizations. Currently, the Government of Nepal has appointed him the Chancellor of the Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).

Kalapremi Shrestha (Gopal Das Shrestha) is pioneering sculptor and ceramic artist who have established the essence of ceramic art in Nepal. He is doing experimental ceramic art works which are highly appreciated by critics and art collectors throughout the world. He is most probably the only artist who brought the raku technique in Nepal.
Kalapremi graduated from lalitkala campus, Nepal. He has over 45 years of experience in sculpture. But we can say he is natural born sculptor who grew up playing with clay. He has done 13 solo exhibitions under his belt and several group shows. He has participated more then 25 Art camps and workshops around the SAARC COUNTRIES and abroad.

Seema Sharma ji was born in Varanasi, India, in 1964. After her graduation in Painting (1988), she did her post-graduation (1990) in Print-making. She later earned a Ph.D. in History of Art in 1998 from Banaras Hindu University. She has participated in more than 70 shows held nationally and internationally in Japan, Korea, USA, UK, the Netherlands, France, India, Scotland, and Bangladesh. Between 1989 and 2017 her solo shows have been exhibited by different galleries in Nepal and India, most prominently in Siddhartha Art Gallery, Nepal, Gallery Ganesha, India, Sridharni Art Gallery, Delhi, Open Eye Gallery, Scotland, Juno Art Gallery, South Korea, and Jahangir Art Gallery, India. She has won the Best Etching Award at Art Fest Doral in Miami twice in 2013 and 2014. Likewise, she also won Best Exhibit Award in Amritsar in 1993. Her works depict the images of ancient Nepali sculpture and architecture, Nepali cultural rituals and Hindu and Buddhist mythologies. She does not present the mythical and religious images as they appear in reality, but combines them with free association. She is presently working as an Associate Professor at the Central
Department of Fine Arts in Tribhuwan University.

Council Member (Head of painting department/former head of handicraft department) of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts M/s Sushma Rajbhandari was born in the 24^th of Sept 1968 A.D. in Kathmandu. She did her Master’s in Fine Art from Central Department, T.U., Kirtipur. She has done eighteenth solo national and international exhibitions and participated in more than one hundred fifty group art exhibitions. Furthermore, she has participated in more than seventy art workshops Nepal and abroad and is associated with thirty eight groups and organizations. She has been awarded with numerous accolades for her outstanding performances in art Nepal and abroad. She has also judged various art events and other competitions. She frequently writes articles on various topics including art and has created cartoons and illustration for various magazines. She has travelled to various parts of Nepal, and India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Korea, Japan, USA, Italy, Australia, German, France, Netherland, Switzerland, China, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Russia, Sri lanka, Qatar, South Korea, Philippines.

Kapil is a visual artist based in Nepal, who is regarded as the pioneer artist in establishing and expanding the scope of figurative/nude art in Nepal. He is committed in taking the figurative/nude art in Nepal, to a next level – for which has been working tirelessly to create an acceptance for figurative/nude art in Nepal.Kapil graduated from the University of Texas, at Arlington, USA in 2004. He has over 25 years of experience in figurative artworks. He has done 17 solo art exhibitions and more than 100 group exhibitions (including workshops, performances, and installations) in Nepal, The United States of America, and Australia. He has received several national and international awards, among which few selected are: Arniko National Youth Award in Nepal, Distinguished Alumni Award, People’s Choice Award, Who is Who Award, Best of the Show Award, and Special Achievement Award in the USA.

Trained as a painter, Saroj Bajracharya has been practicing diverse areas in arts such as writing, curating and art education. Three decades in art field with six solo exhibitions and numerous art shows and workshops to his credit, he has taken part in a curatorial residency project initiated by Korean National Museum of Art and Cultural Partnership Initiatives S Korea. He has also penned 3 important books on Nepali modern art.

Kishor Nakarmi is a visual artist born in 1978 April 2. He has completed Master’s in Fine Art from Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Nepal. His professional experience includes being an art teacher at various schools. He is active in art field since 2004. He is involved in art sector for more than a decade. He specializes in painting but he also works in other medium. Till now he has exhibited three solo exhibitions in year 2005, 2009 and 2014.

Bipana Maharjan is a visual artist born in 1984 March 15. She has completed Master’s in Fine Art from Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Nepal in 2012. Her professional experience includes being an art teacher at various schools and she is also a lecturer at Tribhuvan University. She is involved in art sector for more than a decade. She specializes in printmaking, nevertheless she also works in other medium. Till now she has two solo exhibitions to her credit-‘Journey with color’ in 2005 and ‘Tundal’ in 2012.

Roshan Pradhan is a visual artist based in Nepal. He did his Master’s in Fine Arts from Lalit Kala Campus. He is a freelance artist. He has over 25 years of experience in Art field. Since 1998, he has been doing both Solo and group exhibitions. He has held two Solo exhibitions at Nepal Art Council Gallery and other at Sakano Ueno Bijutsukan Art Gallery, Hokkaido, Japan.

He has collaborated in several group exhibitions notably at Rabindra Nath Tagore Center ( l. C. C. R), Kolkata, 14th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh 2010. Thousand Faces of Arts, National Taiwan Art Education Center, Art and Friendship International Exhibition, Asian Art Museum Fukuoka, Japan, Ratchadamneon Contemporary Art Center, Bangkok,Thailand, Friendship Art Exhibition Arma Museum Indonesian, Fabrianoinacquarello 2019, 10th International Watercolor museum, Italy, Buddhist Art Fair Beijing china, Korean and Nepal Contemporary Art Exchange Exhibition, Nepal.

Pradhumna Shrestha  is a visual artist based in Nepal, his  Art the am are more concerned about the heritage, myth. His works are more earthly, and is more concerned at gradual erosion of his cultural values. To him, artistic architecture past of earlier valley stands as the embodiment of the rich culture past. He in his painting has sought to convey the vanishing heritage he love respect so much.  He also like to fusion his heritage with world Art. His works stands as the testimony of concerns.

Mangol Putra is my nick name to be known as a visual artist based in Nepal. I love realism and semi abstract art too but at this present time I am influenced to create surrealism based art more than realism and semi abstract art. And, as I am a civilian of eastern society and specially a member of a buddhist family, I am committed in taking surrealism based artworks with the harmony of traditional methods and motiefs of buddhist art in Nepal, to a next level for which have been working tirelessly to create an acceptance for my art in Nepal. I have completed my Proficiency Certificate Level in Fine Arts from Tribhuban University at Kathmandu, Nepal in 2002 and have over 18 years of experience in figurative artworks. During the years, I have participated in several national and international group exhibitions and workshops in Nepal, India, Japan and Thailand.

I am Rudra Bahadur Pun born and raised in the historic and beautiful city of Pokhara. Art has always been a very important part of my life. A away to express my feelings and emotions. I have always thought satisfaction can only be found living under concrete build and houses but now as l experienced the modern, fast developing world that has pushed us to a new era. I think we are gradually forgetting our origins and the beauty of mother nature.  I adore and cherish the beautiful memories that I had made as a kid living surrounding by nature and playing with nature.When I create art it is directly or indirectly related with nature.  As a nature lover l always try to capture beautiful scenery from nature and some  old traditional ways of living that once used to be a part of our daily life.
