SAMARPAN

Samarpan in Sanskrit, is the ability to surrender to the Divine, while living in the present, and being able to dissolve into the eternal space.
Samarpan means to surrender in totality to the supreme power. It is so relatable to the artist, as when he dons the role of the creator, he surrenders his entire being to his Canvas, Medium, the form and the creation.
He takes on a meditative state, where in he moves away from the material world to a very holistic environment where only the artist and his creation exists in perfect synergy, hence the Surrender or Samarpan is in totality.
In our show SAMARPAN,
You will be able to witness and feel the energy of the paintings, where the the six renowned fine artists of India, have completely surrendered to the divine forces guiding them to create such exquisite artworks. Each painting stands out in its own uniqueness, holding the viewer in a trance like state.
Do visit the exhibition and enjoy the creations.

Laxman Aelay

Laxman aelay is born in 1965 at Kadirenigudem village of Telangana, Aelay Laxman is highly reputed artist for his contemporary depictions of the rural Telangana imagery. Like many other successful artists, he too started his artistic journey as a sign board artist and illustrator before coming to the mainstream art. Now, Awarded PhD from The English and Foreign Languages University, Laxman completed his Masters in Painting from Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad and worked as an Art director for films. He is credited with numerous important shows and was part of several art camps held in India and abroad.
Laxman’s vibrant quasi-realistic paintings and arduously drawn imagery evoke a sense of apprehension and nostalgia. His men and women in typical Telangana attire proclaim their cultural identity. His first solo show in 90’ was titled, ‘Images of Kadirenigudem’, on the name of his native village. From then on, the representation of Telangana life in all its vitality and vigor become his personal visual idiom even in his recent one man show, ‘Fellow Travellers’ in 2014. The paintings at his very recent solo show in Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, titled ‘Fellow Travellers’ demonstrate highly skillful renditions of portraits layered with imagery taken from folk arts of Nakashi, Kalamkari, Paithan etc. These larger than life size hyper realistic images of street performers, itinerant bards and tantalizing common people are built and rebuilt over multiple layers of motifs that burst from his subconscious memory revealing predicaments of oppressed communities.

Bolgum Nagesh Goud

The narrative is fragmented and reconstructed to cater to my visual expanse, where strong flat hues are embellished with intricate patterns and designs…the central characters occupy the canvas, leaving vast negative spaces on which I draw meticulous imagery. The imagery is inspired from ancient stories, particularly from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. The potent rendition of the narratives is entirely fresh and allows the viewer to interact with each character, while decoding the web of imagery.’A university gold medallist, Bolgum Nagesh Goud graduated from JNT University, Hyderabad, with a degree in Fine Arts. In a career spanning over 26 years, he has been honoured on multiple occasions by the Hyderabad Art Society and the Lalita Kala Samithi in Siddipet. Recently, he turned to curation with GAJA – an elephant sculpture group show held in Hyderabad.
