G. Subramanian

It is believed that with loss that a new life begins. As a young artist in the city, G. Subramanian was carving a niche for himself as a decorative painter, when his only daughter was diagnosed with cancer. Her passing away shattered all possibilities and his life came to a standstill. He went on a spiritual journey in search of answers, yet his life seemed distant and blurry. His reverie was broken when he won a gold medal in an art competition, which led him to take weekend art classes for children. He visited the Sistine Chapel in Italy, and while facing Michelangelo’s master piece, he found his path and a whole new meaning to his life.

AJAY SAMIR

Well known artist Ajay Samir’s works in a black and white pallet, have glimpses of shadow and light, highlighted with poignant textures and colours on expressive facets of human experiences in iconic figuration.
Blending tradition with modern realities allowing hues to naturally adapt patterns, it oscillates around detailing textures, decorativeness of idioms, and linear motifs, symbolizing sensitivity of women, along with conjuring dream like memories of nature.
Man’s ability to conceptualize and express thoughts is seen in art, with elements of lines, colours, suggestive harmony, rhythmic movements, cultivating instinct and institution. These elements come to the fore in Ajay Kumar Samir’s exceptional art. One finds stylistic conceptual themes in lyrical narratives of human drama in his works.

Madhumita Bhattacharya

Art to me is akin to Worship… It is a medium of self-realization! Art is my greatest passion, my way of relaxation and my very existence..I feel Life, Spirituality and Art are integrated with each other… The Art of painting ‘Buddha’ comes to me naturally… I derive a lot of peace and solace by painting the calm and serene face of ‘Buddha’. As a child I thankfully got a chance to travel a lot across Sikkim, Bhutan ,Nepal , Darjeeling ,Dharamshala,Yol, Dehradoon…etc ..and visited many Buddhist Monastries..and interacted with lot of Bhuddhists…this gave me plenty of knowledge and also inspired me and brought me closer to BUDDHA…
